Peaceful Happening
It’s Guild week!  Welcome Tidewater Knitting Guild!  Welcome OBX Fiber Guild! We are having so much fun with everyone who is coming in for a visit. This weekend we will be having a 10% off sale Thursday(3/19) - Sunday(3/22) in store only! We will be having a pop up Open Knit 1-4 on Saturday and our regular Making Afternoon 1-4 on Sunday. We will also be hosting Guild Breakfast for our OBX Fiber Guild and our lovely visitors from the Tidewater Knitting Guild starting at 9 AM with breakfast, extended hours, and more!
Woobles week! TON of Woobles coming in. We have been busy with a smidge of travel, that had its hiccups, and starting our preparations for the summer. We have gotten some items in, but have so many on the way. New bags, kits, and more will be in stock and available soon! We also have been approved for in-store ravelry purchases! This has been a long time coming, but we are very excited to be able to help pick your projects and get your pattern all in one spot. This makes kits and project choosing much easier and enables us to print your patterns in store so you can go home with a physical copy and receive your digital copy to your email and your Ravelry account as well!
As we move closer to the summer months we will be extending our hours back to summer hours which will begin Saturday, April 4, so there will be more time to shop everyday. We will be bringing on a few new faces and some familiar ones so look out for mentions in our next few newsletters!

The Giveaway winner will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday and prizes will be available to be picked up or shipped to the winner. The 10% sale will be available all weekend long beginning Thursday(3/19) at 2pm and continuing during our extended hours 11-8 Friday(3/20), 11-5 Saturday(3/21), and 9-4 Sunday(3/22). Knit for Food is less than a month away and we  hope you all will either support us with a donation, or join our team and knit along with us!  Tap the link below to go directly to our team page to either join or donate.  We will be in the store for the entire Knit-a-long on 4/11/26 from 10am - 10pm.  We will also be on our store zoom and will be joining the main Knit-a-long zoom from the store.  You do not have to knit the entire time, so no pressure!  You also do not need to just knit - being a making store, feel free to work on your project of choice.  If you want to spin or weave, or any other make, that would be great!  Come join us as you can, and support Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, Team no kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels!
Our goal is to raise $5000 as a team!  I have done Knit for Food for the past 2 years and it is really fun.  We will be remotely connected to the main knit-a-long and will be able to participate with all the special guests including Patty Lyons!
Peaceful Making Society
We don’t currently have a Maker in Residence, but our current works on display by Mischel are the Alpine Bloom hat by Kaitlin Hunter in Spin Cycle Dyed in the Wool in Hot Minute and Ito Rakuda and Sensai in white, Reagan Sweater by Isabell Kraemer in Coastal Cashmere, and the Stripey Raglan by Loupy Studio in a combination of scrappy Big Birdie by Lamb and Kid, Noro, and other scraps in many different colors (come see this fun knit!). We hope more people will sign up to be Makers in Residence soon!
We love seeing all of your makes and we look forward to adding more Makers to our Peaceful Making Society. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Peaceful Making Society,  let us know at questions@peacefulmaking.com.  Remember, projects can be any kind of making! As a member of the society you will display your project for 30 days and receive the same amount of yarn or supplies as in your project at 50% off in exchange for your exhibition!  Hope to see many of you join us and display your lovely projects!

  • Tolsta Tee - Rebecca Clow - This is a tried and true knit that is fantastic for the upcoming summer months. Simple and quick. I added embroidery on it to add to the gorgeous yarn. I may add more soon, but it already looks amazing.  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tolsta-tee

  • Jelly Top - Mei Bruns - my surprise knit. It’s been in my queue - and I love it.  Remember the popcorn/bubble tees from the 90’s?  The really little scrunchy tees that stretch when you put them on? This is very similar.  It’s a fun pattern of increases and decreases and in between stripes using a smaller needle to make the bubbles.  Fun construction and lots of choices.  Vest, short sleeve, regular sleeves, or bell sleeves. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jelly-top
  • Dragonfly Sweater - by Elenor Mortensen - I have been waiting for this.  I thought I had picked out my yarn, but no - I’m going to have to try again and pick out other colors!  Let’s see what I pick! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dragonfly-sweater-2
  • Happy Camp Sweater - by Brienne Moody - I have been wanting to do an all over color work - so here I go. I’m going to wait for the next batch of Spin Cycle to arrive to cast this on. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/happy-camp-sweater
  • Dagmar Zipper - Petite Knit - This Knit Along has begun with swatching.. Very excited to enjoy this cable sweater and make along with the group!.  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dagmar-zipper-sweater
  • San Luis Pass Capelet - Ana Clerc - What a beautiful little poncho with a beachy vibe.  Come will be a little unique as I have chosen the different varieties of purple by La Biene Aimee.
Patterns of Interest
Mixed Rib Cami - Florence Miller - This is a great summer tank. Simple and elegant with enough breathability for the summer heat in the OBX. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mixed-rib-cami
Achira - Linnea Ornstein - The short rows of this sweater look amazing. Definitely a different construction than we have shown before, but it looks fantastic and a great use of short rows. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/achira
Solar Flares - Savannah Price - These pants are absolutely adorable. Such a fantastic use of granny squares and colorful yarn. Will be on Jenna’s making list for the summer. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/solar-flares-2
Gal Sweater - Masha Ziablikova - This is a gorgeous use of mohair. It looks flowy and light with a lovely pattern overlay. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gal-sweater
Josephine top - Lily Kate France - In love with the fit and simplicity of this top. It would be a perfect shirt for the Outer Banks to wear from spring through fall. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/josephine-top-2
Tee No. 1 - My Favourite Things - This is a simple but beautiful shirt. It has a nice fit and has a great fabric from the stitch. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tee-no-1
My Favorite YouTube
We loved this video, especially her tips for blocking swatches– very handy.
This video is great, and we absolutely LOVE the indigo blues she shared.
If you know us, you know bringing at least a few projects along on trips is a MUST.
The Sabai top is a store favorite around here– absolutely perfect for warm weather!
LOVE!
Great live recording for our crochet-ers.
Andrea is one of our all time favorites.
Love this vest and we can’t wait for the pattern to be available.
Really great inspiration.
Going to work on this next week.
For those of you who were made to make.
Life saver for those learning to knit with a machine.
