Peaceful Happenings
What a year!  We want to thank everyone for helping us get to our first-year anniversary and celebrate this amazing accomplishment.  We are so happy to have such a wonderful community, and we thank everyone for coming out to celebrate our first-year anniversary ribbon cutting!  It’s been an amazing year.

Peaceful Highlights
As we pass our one-year anniversary, I want to take a moment to highlight my partner, Jenna.  I know you all know this lovely, fun, chatty Jenna, but I’m not sure you all know what Jenna has done to build Peaceful Making. Jenna is actually the backbone of our lovely store.  She has built us corporately, kept our books, created our e-store (this is HUGE), created social media platforms, and kept track of all our orders.  In addition, she has taught classes, taken on being the crochet queen, worked many, many hours in the store, planned events, attended fiber festivals and trade shows, and oh—so much more.
Many of you don’t know that Jenna actually owns Peaceful Making.  She is Peaceful Making.  Next time you are in the store, stop and say hello to her, and thank her for building and sustaining this amazing store!
Welcome to New Members of the Peaceful Making Family
We are very pleased that Susan Zimmerman has joined us as manager at Peaceful Making. Susan is a lifelong fiber arts enthusiast and lover of color, pattern, and all things textiles. She has enjoyed a variety of careers, most recently as a sales rep in the quilting and sewing industry covering Washington DC to Miami FL. She is an east coast native who has made her full-time home in Duck, North Carolina since 2022 with her husband Doug and their beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In addition to knitting and crochet, Susan is an experienced needle pointer, quilter, and sewist. She loves the ocean and singing choral music.
We are delighted that Bella White and Edie Youngblood joined the Peaceful Making community as interns this summer. Both are rising seniors at the North Carolina State University Wilson College of Textiles and arrived on the Outer Banks eager to share their educational experience, enhance their knowledge, and gain practical experience working through the summer at our store in Kitty Hawk.
Bella is majoring in textile technology with a concentration in medical textiles and non-wovens, and she is minoring in English. While Bella’s educational background focuses on the technical aspects of fiber and textiles, she enjoys crochet to unwind.
Edie is majoring in fashion and textile design with a minor in textile technology.  She also weaves, knits, crochets, dyes, felts, and spins.
Both Edie and Bella have been instrumental in providing support in all areas of the fiber arts at Peaceful Making, learning new crafts, assisting us with our social media, and documenting the store’s processes and procedures.
Fourth of July Week!
Happy Fourth of July Week! To get into the festive spirit we will have drop in classes every day until 7/8 from 1pm-4pm! Join us to learn any of the classes we have or to ice dye your own Peaceful Making Shirt or Sweatshirt.
We will also be holding a Woobles sale until 7/8/26 for 10% off any Woobles kit! Woobles are perfect for beach crafting or learning crochet at any age!
We will have shortened hours on the Fourth of July from 10am-12pm to assist any fiber arts emergencies over the holiday. If you’re running out of yarn before the fireworks show, stop by to pick some up!
Community
Anniversary Ribbon Cutting
An image added to the post.
On Thursday, June 11, Kitty Hawk Mayor - Charlotte Walker, members of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, and members of the community joined us to celebrate our one-year anniversary with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at the store. It was truly an honor to be recognized by our colleagues and friends and to enjoy another opportunity to highlight Peaceful Making as one of the rising businesses on the Outer Banks.
Fiber Guild
In May, Jenna and I were elected co-presidents of the Outer Banks Fiber Guild, which officially promotes fiber arts in this region. Linda Sears was elected secretary, and Denise Skinner was elected treasurer.
We are very grateful to the past officers and the Guild members for the extensive work they have done promoting weaving, spinning, knitting, and basketry in this area. We are looking forward to working with the current members and recruiting new members as we continue the goal of promoting awareness of the fiber arts throughout the Outer Banks and beyond.
As we move forward, you will see changes as we develop and grow. We have already added many new things and volunteers and we hope you will join us! You can find us at www.obxfiberguild.com.
We hope you will accompany us on this journey and volunteer to help us!
In order to take a fresh look at the Guild as we move forward, we have formed a new Guild Advisory Board. This Board will serve to grow the Guild. Board members create their own groups to help expand their areas. They will report out at the quarterly Guild meetings.  This will be a collaborative and transparent process.  We will develop the guidelines and bylaws around this process over the next year, but will move forward with the work each board member is leading.
  • Guidelines and Bylaws—Rosemary Loftus Wheeler has agreed to serve as parliamentarian and will lead us in developing a mission statement, bylaws, and new processes to help our Guild function and grow.
  • History and Documentation— As librarian/historian, Melissa Paulson will continue working with the well-documented history of the Guild. We have many articles and newspaper clippings in our records that tell the story of the Guild’s work, and Melissa will make sure that we continue that initiative as we move forward.
  • Dare Arts—As Dare Arts liaison, Carol Beal will work with the other arts-related organizations on the Outer Banks to spread the word about the Guild’s work and to coordinate our work with theirs through classes, exhibitions, and shows.
  • Education—Helen Corbett will work with area schools and other educational institutions to encourage children and young people to develop interest in the fiber arts.
  • Weaving and Spinning—Our local weaving and spinning expert Inger Seitz will combine her knowledge, experience, and artistry to promote weaving and spinning throughout the Guild and the area.
  • All Needlework—Susan Zimmerman will coordinate the Guild’s efforts to promote and encourage all aspects of needlework, including (but not limited to!) embroidery, needlepoint, cross stitch, and punch needle embroidery.
We also have open positions on the Advisory Board for
  • Knitting and Crochet
  • Fiber (felting, dying and processing)
We encourage anyone interested in serving in these positions to contact us at boardlead@obxfiberguild.com
If you feel we need an additional board position and you would like to volunteer, please send us an email at the same address. Everyone in the fiber arts community has something to contribute!
Our next meeting will be held in person and via Zoom on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 am.  Everyone is welcome to attend, either in person at Peaceful Making or by Zoom. We will send the Zoom invitation out the week prior. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us by contacting us at info@obxfiberguild.com
We are excited about our new structure, our new meetings, and our new way of joining the Guild, and we are inviting you to become a member and explore the many ways we can learn about the fiber arts and promote them in our community through education and awareness.
Peaceful Makers Society: Makers-in-Residence
An image added to the post.
We have so many talented and prolific artists in the Peaceful Making community, and we are thrilled that we can showcase one or more Makers-in-Residence every month.
This month, we are delighted to highlight the work of July’s Makers-in-Residence, Sharon Phillips and Helen Corbett.
Sharon has knit a beautiful version of the Wilson Sweater, by Knitting for Olive. This is a great display of holding mohair with a base yarn to make a lovely fabric.
An image added to the post.
Helen has nine items displayed this month, including the Paris Skirt by me and Simone; Pink Fizz by Andrea Mowry; and Broadleaf by Wool and Pine. Please stop by to see all of July’s Makers-in-Residence works in person and, if you see Helen or Sharon, please compliment them on their achievements and their artistry.
The Makers-in-Residence program honors the makers in our community. The store displays Makers’ finished projects that have been made using Peaceful Making products (either our fibers or our equipment). In addition to displaying Makers-in-Residence creations in the store, we also showcase them in the newsletter and online on  our Peaceful Makers community page. If you would like to submit a project, please email us at info@peacefulmaking.com. If you are chosen as a Maker-in-Residence, we will give you 50% off your next purchase of the equivalent amount of the yarn that you used to make your original project.
We are very excited to share our community’s work!

If you have visited us at the beach, if you live here, or if you plan to visit in the future, don’t miss the opportunity to purchase this very special memento from the Outer Banks. An image added to the post.
Beaded boxes: Edie, Bella and Alisson were creative and made some beautiful beaded notions tins!  They are so beautiful and very useful for all your stitch markers and notions!  Another special Outer Banks souvenir!
Twice Sheared Sheep update: we loved the trunk show so much we kept a lot of the extra notions!  There are gauge rulers, lots of stitch markers, bags, and more.  All our favorite Twice Sheared Sheep things!
Hedgehog Fibres update: we had a big yarn and fibre update from Hedgehog Fibres!  Just love the colors—as usual!
Dog Leash Kits: We now have cotton rope to create beautiful and sturdy dog leashes through Kumihimo weaving! Grab a kit today and join us for a class to learn the Kumihimo braiding technique.
Knit-alongs
The Tolsta Tee (by Rebecca Clow) Knit-along has been very popular, and we are continuing the sessions during Thursday Making Nights (which begin at 4:30 pm and end at 8:00 pm).  Although the Tolsta Tee classes officially have ended, we can provide you with additional support during scheduled office hours (see below for more details). Once the tees are finished, we are planning a Tolsta Tee fashion show to highlight everyone’s accomplishments. Stay tuned to Instagram, Facebook, and the website for more information.
Weaving and Spinning
Inger’s large floor loom is currently warped with a navy blue yarn. This loom is set up to allow students to practice weaving and play on. No specific pattern is being followed, instead students are encouraged to experiment and come up with their own!
Bella is currently working on a delicate mohair shawl! She is following the “Diaphanous Mohair Shawl” pattern found in Inventive Weaving on a Little Loom by Syne Mitchell. This project is unique because the warp and weft density is very low, which creates a gauzy fabric. This is Bella’s first ever weaving project and it is coming out beautifully!
An image added to the post.
Edie just finished warping her loom to weave a set of hand towels. She has a total of 432 ends! A white Cottolin yarn is being used for the warp. Fabric made from Cottolin is soft while still holding its shape, making it great for many different weaving projects. Edie will be using a decorative pattern she found online as she begins weaving.
An image added to the post.
The third WolfPup floor loom is currently warped with Knitting for Olive cotton merino in the color Japanese Anemone. To contrast with the light colored warp, a dark navy blue is being used for the weft. The final product will be a colorful scarf featuring a geometric pattern!
Mischel has been working on a shawl on her rigid heddle loom! The striped warp and striping in the weft creates a beautiful plaid pattern, which she designed herself. She is using a white and dark grey natural yarn.
An image added to the post.
Our Schacht standard loom is warped with a brightly colored stripe pattern! This loom is also set up for anyone to practice weaving on. Since there are only two treadles in use, this loom is perfect for beginners to weave on and gain an understanding of how the loom works.
Peaceful Making Society
The Peaceful Making Society is an outstanding way to participate in our making community. As a Society member, you can benefit from the following and more: 10% off on purchases through both the Peaceful Making online store and the Kitty Hawk store (great for purchasing required materials for classes); a $20 coupon to the Peaceful Making online shop; free access to two office hour sessions per week; access to the Peaceful Making classes, workshops, and skills update series; personal shopper access by appointment; a coupon code for unlimited use of equipment in the equipment lab (once you complete the 101 class for the equipment you would like to use); a Peaceful Making Society project bag; and access to the Peaceful Making Society Digital Hangout Space.
We have extended Early Bird pricing ($200 for a year’s membership) through August 1, 2026.  Automatically renewable membership is $150.
Membership in the Peaceful Making Society is invaluable for any maker living or visiting on the Outer Banks or purchasing items through the online store. It also is a great gift idea for the makers in your life!
Office Hours
Every once in a while, the most experienced and enthusiastic of us hits a wall with even the simplest knitting project. A design, stitch, or technique that seemed straightforward and logical at first glance or in class suddenly becomes confusing and seems impossible to understand and overcome. We can help!
We are happy to provide scheduled office hours, either in person or through Zoom, for $35 per session. We can work together to study the pattern, examine the stitches, or come to grips with a technique that causes frustration and seems to be insurmountable. If you are interested in working with a mentor who will help you successfully complete (and enjoy!) your project, please take a look at our website for more information: https://peacefulmaking.com/products/office-hours?_pos=1&_sid=9aa9d87ef&_ss=r
In Person office hours are scheduled on Mondays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and on Wednesdays between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and virtual office hours by Zoom (or occasionally in person when possible) from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursdays.
Welcome our Newest Knitting Teachers
We are delighted that Helen Corbett will be joining us as a knitting teacher. In addition to her extensive knitting experience, Helen is an experienced educator who teaches elementary school. She will be helping us by further developing our curriculum, scheduling classes, and teaching not only beginning students, but also assisting knitters with more advanced skills.
We are also welcoming Sidney Evans! She retired to Colington from Lexington, Virginia after a career in higher education. Her first fiber arts experience was smocking dresses for her daughter when she was a little girl. Sidney taught smocking classes for several years at a fabric store in Memphis, Tennessee.   She then learned to quilt, needlepoint and knit. She still does all of those, but knitting is her passion. Conquering socks and then teaching a friend to make her own was so much fun for her. She loves colorwork and finished her first Shetland Wool Week hat on a trip to Nags Head back in 2021.
Classes
Here at Peaceful Making we offer many fun craft classes!
The Kumihimo Dog Leashes and Bracelets class is fun for all ages! Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese technique of braiding strands of yarn or cord into colorful ropes. Depending what size disc is used, we can make bracelets or dog leashes!
An image added to the post.
Our Bracelet and Bookmark Looms are great weaving classes for beginners! These small, handheld weaving looms are perfect for learning the basics of weaving. You get to warp the loom, weave in your yarn, and beat it down. The final product will be a unique bracelet or bookmark!
We also offer a Peg Loom weaving class! If you want to make something a little bigger than a bracelet or bookmark, the peg looms are another great weaving option. These looms are great for small tapestries, coasters, potholders, and napkins. You will gain an understanding of the basics of weaving, and the possibilities of what you can create are endless!

Learn to Felt in our Beginning Felting class! Felting is a textile craft that involves the interlocking and matting of loose fibers together to create a solid form. Using a barbed needle and colorful fiber, you can create cute shapes and figures. Your final felted piece can be turned into an ornament or garland!
In our Beaded Buddies class, you can create a little animal by stringing together beads! These little guys make cute keychains or charms.

The week before the 4th of July and the week after will be our 4th of July Craft Fair!  We will be doing classes from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm each day (except the 4th when we will be closing at noon to allow our staff to enjoy the festivities).  We hope you can make it in to have some fun with us!  Sign up online so we know how to prepare your class for you! https://peacefulmaking.com/collections/drop-in-classes?_cd=80a1a99201a8b591b8970bfd6ef998adf321799342ae6272623c48006a1ae712&_uid=119361208632&preview_theme_id=179376718136&preview_token=ia89iuh2a10ltb3xmurqxn5jonetfqxk
FO’s
Tolsta Tee by Rebecca Clow—as a part of the Tolsta Tee Knit-along  I knit several of the classic tees with a few modifications. I did one in Camillia Fibers Rainbow Sprinkles DK (this one has ¾ length sleeves and twisted rib collar, sleeve and bottom rib) and one in Farmers Daughter Fibers Outerbanks Peaceful Making Juicy DK with a smaller and bit larger rib neck. Love this classic pattern and all the mods you can do to make this what you want it to be.https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tolsta-tee
An image added to the post.
Tolsta Tee by Rebecca Clow —Hi! This is Helen, and I too jumped on the Tolsta Tee bandwagon, but with Jenna’s help we made it fancy! I used Knitting For Olive cotton merino in Thundercloud, with a little bit of La Bien Aimee’s Howl and Sophie.  The neckline and the cuffs are in Howl and Sophie, and across the back I have a stripe of the La Bien Aimee.  I also included a back panel of lace in the gray, and for my ribbing I used a twisted rib—if I were to give this a name—it would be Choose Your Own Adventure
An image added to the post.
Paris Skirt by me and Simone—Helen again—this one was lots of fun.  A whole skirt in various mohair yarn. When you get sick of one color—switch it up! This one goes pretty quickly because you use large needles.  I think it will look great with the Tolsta Tee I made. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-paris-skirt

Innisfree by Penny Straker—Knit by Rosemary. I found this pattern deep in my pattern library (notes on the pattern indicate that I had knit it for a cousin’s child—also named Rosemary—in 1995). I made a few modifications, and I knit it again this spring in double-stranded Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino. A genuine classic, the pattern is no longer available for purchase on Ravelry, but it appears to be available through Amazon. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/innisfree
The “Fairytales” Hooded Bolero Cardi by Heather Cummings - Jenna here with crochet! I have been in a WIP mindset for months and finally pulled out a few finished objects this month! This adorable bolero screamed perfect for the summer months. I made this with yarn from Nash Yarn Fest and a little Lang Lame for sparkle (because can we imagine Jenna without sparkles) and it is perfect for summer! It is the perfect garment to wear in the hot months when it is too warm for a sweater outside, but you still need something to combat the air conditioning indoors. https://tinyurl.com/3s66dyhj
An image added to the post.
Granny Tee by Biray Celik - Jenna again! This was the perfect combination of granny squares and solid fabric for a cute sweater! It was super quick to make, combine, and finish. I would suggest following instructions and not trimming the magic loop tail too tight, but mistakes are inevitable and fixable. I love it as a granny square project that can be accomplished pretty quickly and the completed object fits fantastically! I may wear it as an off the shoulder top and sew elastic in though so more to see soon! https://tinyurl.com/yc8za97h
WIPs
Mischel:
  • Phoebe by Natasja Hornby in Knitting for Olive Merino in Oatmeal—I really love the way this looks on Natasja, not sure how it will look on me…it looks great on the mannequin in the store :).  The pattern is challenging due to the large amount of short rows, increases and decreases for the front and shaping, combined with the stitch pattern—I ripped out a lot! I have finished all the complicated parts and hope to be finished this week!  Don’t let this being a vest fool you… it is a lot of knitting and is challenging! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/phoebe-37
An image added to the post.
  • Sea Foam Tee by Joji Locatelli in La Biene Aimee Alix and Farmers Daughter Fiber Peaceful Outerbanks Oh Dang—This starts with an I-cord and moves to a simple round yoke.  I am excited to knit this simple short sleeve top!  I think our store color mixed with La Biene Aimee will be lovely! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sea-foam-tee
  • Ruffleveil Blouse by Natalja Ledvanova in ITO Kinu and ITO Sensai—I love this flirty little summer top.  The front is so unique (I will wear this with a tank) and I love the mohair ruffles!  I am excited to knit with ITO again! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ruffleveil-blouse
  • Apple Flower by Clara Eggers—I finished the bottom of this lovely colorwork sweater from the book - 52 Weeks of Sweaters  . I started the sleeves—it is a unique bottom up construction.  And I have put it to rest for the summer.  I’ll pick this back up at the end of summer for a sweet winter sweater!
  • Jelly Top by Mei Bruns— Still working this cute bubble tee.  I am working through the cap sleeves in the bubble pattern. I’ve never done sleeves quite like this!  Hope to finish soon. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jelly-top
Helen:
  • Olive’s Blanket by Knitting for Olive— Did you know that Knitting for Olive has some fantastic patterns—especially for babies!  This grandma-to-be found a beautiful blanket that I wanted to make! I am using a sock yarn because it calls for a fingering weight, and the name is perfect for a baby blanket—Hedgehog Fibres’ Snuggle Bug. I am a one-pattern-at-a-time girl, so hopefully I finish soon.  https://knittingforolive.com/products/olives-blanket
Rosemary:

  • Hey Sailor! by Andrea Mowry in Knitting for Olive Pure Silk—Sadly, I am conducting intensive sweater surgery on this lovely, nearly finished top. It was a joy to knit, and once all the knitting was finished, except for the button bands, I blocked it and set it outside to dry. I didn’t realize until after I started knitting on the button bands (and after hundreds of Google searches to determine why they were white while large areas of the ribbing, shoulders, and cuffs were a pale shade of yellowish-tan), that silk can yellow in the sunlight. Fortunately, I have a ball and a half of the colorway left over, so I have cut off the yellowed sections and am reknitting them. Lesson learned #1: Be very careful about what you dry in direct sunlight, especially if you are working with plant-based fibers. Lesson learned #2: Always buy more yarn than you think you need. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hey-sailor-2
  • Tulipan Tee by Le Knit (Lene Holme Samsøe) in Sandnesgarn Line—I am really enjoying knitting this light, airy summer tee. The yarn is delightful to work with, the drape is amazing, and the pattern is straightforward and easy to follow.  Once finished, it will be perfect for the hot days ahead. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tulipan-tee
  • Nr 3 Doble tøfler (also known in the shop as “No-sew Felted Double Slipper”) by Liv Stangeland—Large needles and Sandnesgarn Fritids Garn are the perfect combination for my designated project for watching the World Cup. These slippers knit up quickly, are great for tv knitting, and make wonderful gifts. (It’s not too soon to start knitting for Christmas!) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nr-3-doble-tfler
Jenna:
  • Always Bright by Drops Design - I am one row and a little wire from completing this adorable sun hat. I made it in Lang Eternity which is the cutest color changing cotton I have ever seen. Can’t wait to get it finished and ready for the beach! https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=9187&cid=17
  • Faelace Moon by Under Your Skein - This skirt is just in the beginning stages, but is my new passion project. I can’t wait to have a full crochet skirt to wear! I am currently swatching for it using the Gist Yarn Duet and so far it is going well. It is a very lovely pattern for learning chart reading in crochet as well because every chart has written out instructions as well! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/faelace-moon

Peaceful Making Newsletter 32

April 2026
Peaceful Happenings
What a crazy few weeks.  I am so sorry it took me so long to get this newsletter out!  Way too much travel, including the Nash Yarn Festival in Nashville, a trip to beautiful Asheville, NC to attend the Dean and Bean’s Sock Machine Crank-in, and of course H&H in Chicago!  We continue working hard to bring you all the best of the best and traveling to find new classes and vendors is just one way we do this.

We are working on the final details for the Peaceful Making Society and hope to introduce it to all our customers within the next two weeks. For more information on the many benefits that membership in the Peaceful Making Society brings, please continue reading.
Peaceful Making Travels
Jenna and Helen led our trip to Nash Yarn Festival with Kathy, Tammy, Carol, Rosemary and Denise in Nashville, TN. This was the second annual Nash Yarn Fest, sponsored by Modern Day Knitting (MDK). The weekend’s events included the Tailgate Knit Night on Thursday evening (hosted by Twice Sheared Sheep and GoSadi); the Nash Fest Hootenanny on Friday evening; and two days at the Nashville Fairgrounds exploring limitless choices of yarn and other making supplies offered by more than 90 vendors. A performance at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday evening capped off the weekend.

Peaceful Making was well-represented at the Dean and Bean’s Sock Machines fifth annual Crank-In in Asheville from April 24th to the 26th. We spent two productive days learning the basics of machine sock knitting, and Katie made us proud by completing a sock on the machine! While we were in Asheville, we bought four Dean and Bean’s sock machines for the store. The Dean and Bean’s family was delightful, patient, and encouraging, and I am thrilled that they have accepted an invitation to join us on the Outer Banks in the fall. Stay tuned to this space and the website for more information about their visit.

Jenna and Katie headed out to the H&H Retail conference in Chicago.  They attended classes,  visited with many of our current vendors, and secured many more vendors for our store.  This was a wonderful opportunity to learn and become a part of the fiber community!  Thanks Katie and Jenna for attending for us!

WOWOWOW - we pushed past our goal with Knit for Food!  On April 11, the Peaceful Making team raised over $5,200 in support of Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels. We gathered for twelve hours that day to knit, enjoy each other’s company, and host our own local Zoom call for those of our community who couldn’t attend. We also linked with the nationwide Zoom call held by Laura Nelkin and the other organizers of Knit-for-Food throughout the day. Many thanks to all the members of our community whose generosity made this year’s Knit for Food such a success!!

New Things in the Store This Week

Knit-alongs
I am excited to begin a Tolsta Tee knit-along this month that will run through June. The Tolsta Tee, designed by Rebecca Clow (also known as the Creabea) is an extremely popular top-down pattern, and Rebecca provides many options and modifications in different yarn weights to enhance this simple tee. Our knit-along will be for the DK version, and the pattern will be available for purchase through Ravelry here at the store. We have an unlimited selection of yarn that will make your Tolsta Tee a unique and special addition to your wardrobe, and we’d be happy to help you find the yarns that will work best for you.
An image added to the post.
I will be offering a series of “making a tee shirt” sessions that will run alongside the knit-along: one session that will include the pattern review and modifications in the pattern, two sessions that will include casting on for the tee, short rows, and raglans; one session on the tubular bind off; and one session on picking up stitches for the sleeves. These skills are essential for seeing the Tolsta Tee through to completion, so if you are new to top down knitting or have never knit a tee shirt, I encourage you to sign up for the sessions at https://peacefulmaking.com/products/tolsta-tee-sweater-sessions and sign up for the knit-along at https://peacefulmaking.com/products/tolsta-tee-knit-along! Sessions are included in the Peaceful Making Society membership.

Making Lab
Welcome to the Making Lab.  We have put together a comprehensive collection of making machines and looms upstairs.
Knitting Machine Lab
An image added to the post.
We now have a wonderful collection of flat bed knitting machines.  We have Brothers, Toyotas, Studio Knits, and Silver Reeds. We have all gauges—standard, lace, and bulky.  We also have added two engines for those who want a hands-off experience (well not really :)).  We will be doing maintenance on all the machines and putting together entry level classes to knitting machines, and you will be able to schedule lab time to use the machines after you complete the 101 class.
An image added to the post.
Sock Machine Lab
Our new Sock Machine Lab has six machines: two Erlbachers and four Dean and Bean’s sock machines.  We will be working towards offering a 101 class that will be a requirement for further booking time with these machines, giving you machines to practice on in preparation for the Dean and Bean Crank-in this fall.
Weaving and Spinning
An image added to the post.
Inger has set up her wonderful loom in the making lab.  The loom was built in a prison but is a copy of a typical Finnish loom, the same as Toika or Varpapuu.   She dressed the loom for anyone to weave on with a polyester warp and wool weft in a rose path threading.  People can play on it.  The fabric can be used for a pillow, bag or wallhanging.
The weaving lab also has a large selection of rigid heddle looms and wolf pups in our lab ready for weaving and a lovely Schacht Standard Loom, warped and ready for weaving. The lab also has tapestry looms and tapestry weaving classes.  For those just beginning and would like to learn the basics of weaving on a smaller scale on a small loom you can take home, consider signing up for the bookmark loom class.
An image added to the post.
We will be releasing a series of weaving classes this week that Inger will be teaching as well as continuing to offer Open Weave on Saturday afternoons with Inger (come weave on her interesting loom!).   Here is the link to our weaving class section so you can sign up!  Remember all classes are included in our Peaceful Making Society Memberships.  Here is a link to sign up for that.
Open Spin on Thursdays continues!  If you need to use a wheel—sign up online!  Click here!  We will be adding drop spindle classes to the summer line up for kids and adults!
Are you interested in a loom or a wheel?  We are a dealer for all of the major loom/wheel/fiber brands.  We have some in stock or can order anything you may want with fast delivery to either the store or drop shipped to you.  Check out the website or let us know if you need something that is not listed and we will get it for you.  Feel free to make an appointment with Mischel to do an in-store or virtual weaving or spinning shopping experience! Call the store to make an appointment!

FO’s
All three of my FO’s this newsletter did not bubble up from my WIPs - they are total distraction knits that I just had a whim and knit.  Sometimes it’s not about planning, stash or WIPs - it’s about the love of knitting.
An image added to the post.
MK’s Ribbon Shawl - This beautiful shawl came out of playing with the flatbed machine and the beautiful coned ribbon yarn we got at the Hidden Yarn Shop HM Nabavian in NYC.  It was a quick machine knit with a hand knit icord finish.  I love it - and it looks great with Sydney’s sweater in the store!  Check it out!
An image added to the post.
Early Bloomer - Heidi Kirrmaier - This lovely short sleeve colorwork sweater came out of a yarn chicken loss.  I was knitting the Sweater No 28 by My Favorite Things Knitwear with the lovely Camillia Fibers Som - and the unexpected happened…I ran out of yarn.  Unfortunately I was using an older more green color of Som and I lost at yarn chicken with 1 ¼ sleeves to go.  So sad.  I will definitely be doing that sweater in Som again, but I did have to do some frogging!  The Early Bloomer has an interesting construction - starting with a provisional cast on and delayed short rows and collar.  It came out beautifully!  Love the Som colors together - so soft and lovely!
An image added to the post.
Juice Sweater - Veronika Lindberg - I’ve always loved the Juice sweater and I had a whim - needed a travel knit (went on a staycation to the lovely Sanderling Inn) - and this was my first choice.  I love this pattern!  With the 8 raglans the fit is wonderful.  I used the called for Sandnes Garn Sunday held with Sandnes Garn Tynn Silke Mohair.  I would love to do this one again - I’d love it in a larger more slouchy size in a La Bien Aimee Cashmerino - it would be my go to weekend sweater!
WIP’s
An image added to the post.
  • Vanilla Sock Shortie - Crazy Sock Lady - A quick shortie sock in Farmer’s Daughter Fiber Bearpaw Sock. It is a super quick knit and a lovely Frogman color.
  • Apple Flower - Clara Eggers - I started this in Asheville! It is in the 52 Weeks of Sweaters  book.  I have finished the body and started on the sleeves.  I’m interested to see how the joining of the body and sleeves goes - it is bottom up with separate sleeves.  We shall see..
An image added to the post.
  • The Paris Skirt - me and simone - Well I’m definitely racing Helen on this stash buster.  Mine is on the mannequin in the front of the store so you can check it out.  I still have another foot to go!  I’ll be working this during knit knit for sure! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-paris-skirt
  • Seattle Beanie - Heidi Hennessy - using my leftovers from the Reagan Sweater.  Easy slouchy beanie.  This is in my bag of traveling and walking knits.  It will be finished someday! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seattle-beanie
  • Jelly Top - Mei Bruns - I love this top and I have finished the body and tried one of the sleeves with short row cap shaping…it is currently in the naughty corner because the sleeve is challenging me because I extended the body. I’ll get back to it when I am a little less tired and have more brain cells :).  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jelly-top
  • Dragonfly Sweater - by Elenor Mortensen - Ok I think I’m going to move out of the total green and pick some purples and other colors to bring this sweater back out in the coming weeks! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dragonfly-sweater-2
  • Happy Camp Sweater - by Brienne Moody - I need to pick my colors for this one.  I love it so much but I am stumped on the colors - it’s a Spincycle project - suggestions? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/happy-camp-sweater
  • Dagmar Zipper - Petite Knit - Ok - need to get back to this.  I definitely want to get this done by fall - I think it would be great at Rhinebeck…Anyone else joining us?  Harrisville Peace Fleece is an amazing choice for this.  (And it just came in!) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dagmar-zipper-sweater
Patterns of Interest
Yet another wonderful pattern from Creabea!   It’s a short sleeve/long sleeve cardigan all in one pattern.  Great basic pattern!
FREE easy summer pattern.  Need I say more!
A tee shirt with a twist.  Still pretty simple design, with a little challenge on the small sleeves.
This was on my to do list last summer - I really would like to try this - reminds me of the Kylie Pullover I made for Jenna.
Simple tee in Ito Kinu.  Need this in my wardrobe!
Beautiful Caitlin Hunter design.  It looks like so many colors but really only uses two Spincycle colors.  Might have to try it!
This is a great stash buster.  PLEASE look at the picture without the hat and imagine this without the plaid pants!  It’s really a beautiful sweater!
Yes this was from February, but I really love this one.  A challenging sock with a little colorwork and a little pattern work…sounds like fun!
My Favorite YouTube
I have so many videos - I’m just going to list them and add commentary - I know these were my favorites and I left some out :).  Enjoy!
Recipe
I’m not doing much cooking these days (way too much on the plate :)), but this one is an oldie but goodie
Teriyaki Flank Steak
One Flank Steak (size that fits your family)
½ cup of soy sauce
3 tbs rice wine vinegar
3 tbs sesame oil
3 tbs sugar or honey or sweetener of choice
3-4 cloves of chopped garlic
2 tbls chopped ginger
Marinate the steak in the above ingredients overnight in the frig.  I like to put this in a zip lock bag, but make sure it is sealed well and the opening is higher than the bottom so it won’t leak in your frig.
You can cook this many ways—the easiest is in a 425 oven for 10-15 mins on each side depending on how rare you would like it and how big it is.  You can broil it—watch it carefully for burning, you can grill it, or pan fry it.
You can also pre-slice and then marinate to bake a bulgogi type of steak or stir fry.
Great with rice, veg, salad, as a bowl, or in a sandwich.

FO’s
  • San Luis Pass Capelet - Ana Clerc - Scratch that…I turned it into a poncho! I love it!
An image added to the post.
  • Poppy Pullover - Andrea Mowry - Slipped this one in—didn’t even make the WIP list :).  I cast this one on the minute Andrea released it—and OMG I loved this knit.  Super easy, bobbles are fun, the rib is super fun.  I made my cropped as it is written in the pattern, and I did short sleeves with no decreases and two inches before I started the pattern and rib.  I absolutely love it!  I used the La Bien Aimee Twist Nouveau Pool held with La Bien Aimee Soyeux Pinkfetti.
WIP’s
  • Apple Flower - Clara Eggers -  I am excited to start this unique knit. It is in the 52 Weeks of Sweaters  book.  Super cute color work from the bottom up—very unique!
An image added to the post.
  • The Paris Skirt - me and simone - This skirt is a fantastic mohair stash buster. It is more of a recipe than a pattern with a lot of allowance for adjustments to make it your own. I am using up a lot of the colors from my stripey sweater and it is slowly making progress!  I am going to make this my Making Night project! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-paris-skirt
  • Seattle Beanie - Heidi Hennessy - using my leftovers from the Reagan Sweater.  Easy slouchy beanie.  This is in my bag of traveling and walking knits.  It will be finished someday! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seattle-beanie
  • Jelly Top - Mei Bruns - my surprise knit. It’s been in my queue—and I love it.  Remember the popcorn/bubble tees from the 90’s?  The really little scrunchy tees that stretch when you put them on? This is very similar.  It’s a fun pattern of increases and decreases and in between stripes using a smaller needle to make the bubbles.  Fun construction and lots of choices.  Vest, short sleeve, regular sleeves, or bell sleeves. I am in a short row sleeve cap…. I will let you fill in the words you think I’m saying in my head!   I will have to isolate myself and concentrate for  the end of this make! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jelly-top
  • Dragonfly Sweater - by Elenor Mortensen - I love this pattern— but—this is in the color selection naughty corner.  I’ve tried three  different color combinations and I don’t like any of them!  It needs a rest and I will try again! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dragonfly-sweater-2
  • Happy Camp Sweater - by Brienne Moody - I have been wanting to do an all over color work—so here I go. I’m going to wait for the next batch of Spin Cycle to arrive to cast this on. I will start this after spring break! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/happy-camp-sweater
  • Dagmar Zipper - Petite Knit - On Spring Break crazy hold!  This knit along has begun with swatching…. Very excited to enjoy this cable sweater and make along with the group! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dagmar-zipper-sweater
Patterns of Interest

Vilma Top - Gregoria Fibers - I might have listed this cute little vest before—but I really love it.  I don’t know how it would look on me, but it’s super cute! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vilma-top

Jasmine Blouse - Hyeonji Jin - I love the jasmine blouse—sweet and a little more formal but great little sleeveless vest/tank. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jasmine-blouse-2
Cloudesley - Isabell Kraemer - I don’t know why I missed the Cloudesley—so beautiful and simple. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cloudesley
Sabai Sweater - Susanne Müller - Sabai sweater is like the Sabai tank, but it has sleeves.  This will be an amazing spring/summer sweater! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sabai-sweater

As we move closer to the summer months we will be extending our hours back to summer hours which will begin Saturday, April 4, so there will be more time to shop everyday. We will be bringing on a few new faces and some familiar ones so look out for mentions in our next few newsletters!

Knit for Food is less than a month away and we  hope you all will either support us with a donation, or join our team and knit along with us!  Tap the link below to go directly to our team page to either join or donate.  We will be in the store for the entire Knit-a-long on 4/11/26 from 10am - 10pm.  We will also be on our store zoom and will be joining the main Knit-a-long zoom from the store.  You do not have to knit the entire time, so no pressure!  You also do not need to just knit - being a making store, feel free to work on your project of choice.  If you want to spin or weave, or any other make, that would be great!  Come join us as you can, and support Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, Team no kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels!
Our goal is to raise $5000 as a team!  I have done Knit for Food for the past 2 years and it is really fun.  We will be remotely connected to the main knit-a-long and will be able to participate with all the special guests including Patty Lyons!

We love seeing all of your makes and we look forward to adding more Makers to our Peaceful Making Society. New Things in the Store Week -
Coastal Cashmere - (see the Reagan Cardigan by the front door) This came in mini braids and singles.  We also have a lovely sample of a cowl next to the yarn.  It is so soft and the stitch definition is great for a cashmere!  It is sport weight and a joy to knit!  Absolutely lovely no pill, machine washable cashmere!
Lang - Jawoll sock yarn, Lang Eternity.  I went overboard on the Jawoll - my all time favorite sock yarn.  We have a rainbow of colors - and each skein has a bonus of a wool/nylon spool inside!  You can use it to strengthen the sock you are making - or save it for a different pair!   We also received the cotton Lang Eternity - similar to the Lang Infinity, but made from cotton.  Beautiful color changing rainbow cotton.
West Yorkshire Spinners Sock Yarn - this is a color update!  We brought in all the lovely spring/summer colors.  Lovely, strong sock yarn!  Enjoy!

Sandnes Garn - We have the well sought after Ballerina Chunky Mohair in lovely spring colors,  Paljett, the hard to find sequined yarn in the impossible to get Unicorn Twinkle,  as well as Gold Digger, Silver Spoon, and Espresso.  I’ve got my eye on the Espresso for a lovely evening tshirt!

We are loving our personalized Peaceful Making merch from Katrinkles! Rulers, Darning Looms, Tiny Sock Stitch Markers. Stay tuned for a class on using the Darning Looms to not only mend, but to decorate your clothes and knits!

Check them out on the website or come in and see the broad selection in person!
Chiao Goo needles update to stock up on our inventory as well as the addition of the new Chiao Goo Quads!  We also have 4” Chiao Goo Forte needles.  Great for small circumference work!
Lantern Moon - cable needles, finishing needles, small needle travel organizer and cute tape measures (sheep in different colors and sock monkeys).  Is anyone interested in Lantern Moon needles?  If you are - let me know and I will bring them in.
We also received some soles for our felted slippers and clogs - we have two options - sew on balls of the foot and heel pads or entire soles.  If you are interested in making felted slippers, feel free to join our slipper group on Mondays starting at 11am. We have our own pattern that creates a seamless lovely slipper that is knit in the round!
Snap project bags from Twill and Horn - for those of you who were looking for a bag to manage your color work yarns!

  • Stripey Raglan Pattern - Loupy Studio - LOVE this sweater!  Great for using up all those left overs!  Easy to knit, easy to modify and make your own.  I will be blocking it tonight - it will be in store soon!  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/loupy-stripe-cardi
  • Reagan Sweater - Isabell Kraemer - This is my favorite knit in a long time!  Loved the Coastal Cashmere, loved the interesting construction.  If I do this one again, I would make one change.  I would not do a provisional cast on, I would knit from the end of one sleeve all the way to the other side.  The provisional leaves a line, has half the stitches on one sleeve backwards and I just don’t see the reasoning for it.  So if you knit this - start with at the end of one sleeve and knit to the other!  I also used a picot bind off for the sleeves, an easy and cute little addition.  Soft, sophisticated and you can wear it two ways! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/reagan

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the steady traffic of visitors to the store.  I really thought February would be very slow - but alas everyone has battled the cold and the wind to come in.  We have had so many events and classes with a good group of folks.  Really makes a dreary month not so dreary - in fact warm and fun!  We are super excited for the coming events!  As the Academies grow with more classes, the Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is coming, and more folks join us as the beach begins to open up,  we are super excited to see everyone and make even more!

  • Double Slippers - Liv Stangeland - Sandnes Garn Slippers - love how these came out!  They look like I bought them.  I tried some gel to make little non-slip buttons, but they are already falling off.  I think I would go with sewing on or ironing on some kind of non-slip fabric on the ball of the foot and heel.  I also just don’t mind them plain - it’s like wearing socks.  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nr-3-doble-tfler

Linda Sears and I traveled to NYC for Vogue Live knitting.  It was an amazing trip!  We had great flights, scary cab rides, sketchy fake uber - but we made it!  We stayed with the show at the Marriott in Time Square- even getting Time Square facing rooms!  So lucky!

We started off in the West Village at “A Time to Remember”.  A very crowded little VIP event Thursday night sponsored by MYak.  We had a great fan girl time here saying hi to Aimee Gilles from La Bien Aimee and meeting Isabell Kraemer.  It was a small event with MANY people!  Yarns shopped were MYak, La Bien Aimee and Wondering Flock.

We did several classes, some good, some - interesting.  My favorite was the Embroidery on Knits lecture.  I was tortured with Brioche - and I’ve done brioche before - but in the end I felt good about it.  Knitting Brioche patterns flat - kinda not fun - so I don’t think I’ll be doing a large Brioche patterned shawl anytime soon! I’ll stick to it in the round :).  We took a class in managing your floats and frankly didn’t stay.  The teacher's catch method was the same as mine - so nothing new here, but his method was to catch every other stitch.  Just no….To each their own, but that complicates knitting past where I would like to do it.  Linda took a Patty Lyons class  - check in with her during her making times and see what she thought :). We also saw Patty and the MDK ladies do a talk and that was fun!  PS - Patty will be coming to our shop!!!!

Shopping was a little disappointing at the actual Vogue event.  It was super crowded with limited vendors.  I don’t think this is one we’ll attend again.  We did see Andrea, Aimee, Isabell, Candice, Kate Burge-Tibi and the Katrinkles crew - so it was super fun seeing all of our vendors and Isabell.  We found a new vendor in Coastal Cashmere!  So it was fun and successful!
An image added to the post.
On the non-making side - we did get in some major shopping, saw Hamilton (OMG so excellent and what an applicable time to see this!).  We ate well, and got some knitting in.  All in all a great trip!

Red Hat Patterns

The red pointed protest hat, or nisselue, originated as a symbol of Norwegian resistance against Nazi occupation in the 1940s, representing patriotism and silent defiance. Recently, this historical symbol was revived in Minnesota as the "Melt the ICE" hat—a knitted red beanie with a braided tassel—to protest federal immigration policies, raising hundreds of thousands for charity. Rachel Cardigan - Heidi Hennessy - Beautiful cashmere cardigan pattern - spring is coming!  Coastal Cashmere will be in store in the coming weeks!  Non-pilling!
The following two patterns use the new Ito Yarn that just came in. See the sample pink Seon Kimono in the store! The Lyra Blouse is a simple pattern that will be lovely for spring and summer evenings.  Fabric will be lovely and light!

  • Holiday Pull Over - by Petit Knit in my handspun from Hedgehog Fibers Tweedy Spinning Fiber,  Pot Luck Spinning fiber, held double with Oh So Fine Souffle - what a wonderful little vest pattern.  I searched high and low for a pattern for the amount and weight of my handspun.  I was so happy to have it come out in at about a DK weight.  I was less happy about the fact that it was not spun enough in areas - so to secure it I put it together with Oh So Fine Souffle to make it a bulky weight.  I love how it came out! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/holiday-slipover

  • Winters Pullover/Baaba Dupe - Ozetta and Sara Elysabethe - Knitting For Olive Heavy Merino held double with silk mohair - I love how this came out!  It is very beautiful.  It looks just like a Baaba.  I made a change to the sleeves because I have short arms.  I stopped the decreases when they were the right length for me and I did a row of knit two together to get it to the correct number of stitches for the cuff.  I will say - I think it looks even more authentic because the bottom of the sleeve balloons a bit.  I am so excited to wear it in NYC!  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winters-pullover ozetta winters pullover companion.pdf

  • Lumme Pullover - Sari Nordlund - I cast this on and as usually this Nutiden project is going to be a little finicky - the yarn is soft and lovely and yes it is breaking a lot.  I’m going to take my time and enjoy this process of love!  Anyone want to try a Nutiden project? Let me know - I do have a large stash! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lumme-pullover

The Celeste Sweater - Petite Knit - There are a few lovely geometric yolks that are very similar - this one is the one I like the most because you never hold more than two colors at a time.  All the others are three stranded.  Looks like a winner!  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/celeste-sweater-4
Moon Set Polo - Ozetta - I am hooked on Ozetta.  I love how she writes her patterns.  Love the collar on this one!   https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/moon-set-polo

Recipes
Instapot Spaghetti and Meat Sauce
This is my favorite easy meal - simple and it tastes like leftover spaghetti because the noods absorb the sauce!
Ingredients
  • Ground beef or sausage or both - 1lb or 2 for meaty spaghetti
  • Salt
  • Garlic - fresh or powder
  • 24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 14.5 oz jar of tomatoes - smashed
  • 36 oz of water
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles
  • ½- 1 cup parmesan cheese
Brown the meat with salt using the Saute feature..  If using fresh garlic, cook it with the meat. Add all the other ingredients, breaking the spaghetti noodles in half (yes this is a mortal sin - but worth it). Seal the Instant pot and set it to high pressure for 8 minutes.  Release immediately - add cheese - enjoy!

This month has been a surprise month.  I thought it would be really quiet, you know the beginning of the dark winter months.  Well, I was wrong.  We’ve had a steady pace of folks in, some days have been down right crazy busy - and we love it!  It’s great to be a place where people feel like they can come and hang out!  We’ve had added making times, lots of classes and a steady stream of hunters, vacationers and friends.  What a wonderful thing!
We are welcoming in a few new friends to join the Peaceful Making crew!  Please welcome our new Assistant General Manager Stephen Mark.  Stephen will be working part time from Virginia and hopefully joining us full time someday.  Stephen is amazingly talented and will be helping us both on the business side of things as well as on the all things machine side of the house!  Many of you met him when he came down to work with us on the sock machine and put the flat bed sewing machines together.  Stephen currently works with the Smithsonian in DC.  He will be in the OBX periodically.  Please welcome Stephen!

We are also welcoming folks you probably already know to our line up of teachers.  Please give a welcome to Rosemary Wheeler to our crew as the Knitting Academy Head Master.  Rosemary has been with Peaceful Making since the beginning and has been knitting for oh so long :).  Rosemary will be putting the final curriculum together for the Knitting Academy as well as teaching and working with us in the store when she is here in the OBX.  Many of us will be teaching Rosemary’s curriculum and we look forward to working with her.
Last, but absolutely not least, we welcome Linda Sears to the crew as the lead of  Sunday Making Time! Linda is an amazing knitter and a wonderful knitting teacher.  Her patience and positive support is just what we need to encourage everyone to keep trying new things!  We really considered calling Linda’s Sock Sunday…because - Linda is an amazing sock knitter!  We want to welcome all kinds of making so we will keep it  “making” - but if you need sock support -  come to making time on Sunday - Linda is amazing!

Recipes
Cream Biscuits - these are an old favorite from my great grandmother - and I will tell you they are so easy - it’s going to become a regular! Easy as canned and much tastier!
2 cups of all purpose flour
1 ½ tablespoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
1 ½ heavy cream
Mix all dry ingredients - add cream and stir until just combined.  Pull the dough together and roll out and cut your biscuits - I pull my dough together and just form it gently into a square or rectangle and I cut squares so I don’t have to handle it too much (and it’s easier cause I’m lazy these days)
Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.  If you are lucky enough to have left overs - they heat up in the toaster oven well!

Peaceful Happenings
An image added to the post.

Weaving and Spinning
Have you been upstairs lately?  As many of you know we have Dealerships for Ashford, Schacht, Kromski and EEW.  We carry the full line of all of their products whether they are in the store or we order them to be shipped to you.  We are working on creating a show room upstairs.  We hope you take a peak at the new spinning and weaving displays.  We will continue to develop this space and have information about all of our wonderful weaving and spinning lines.  We hope to add Harrisville to our collection of providers soon!

We continue to have open spin on Thursday and our group continues to grow.  We will be adding spinning classes soon.  We are spinning with both wheels and e-wheels.  If you are interested in trying any of our wheels or e-wheels, please sign up on the website. It’s a great way of trying all kinds of wheels before you decide if you want to buy one!
Upcoming Trips
Linda Sears and I will be heading to Vogue Knitting Live and A Time to Remember in New York City January 29-February 1.  We are very excited to be going to these events for the first time.  We will be meeting Isabell Kraemer, Andrea Mowry, Patty Lyons, Aime Gille, and more.  We are sneaking in some NYC fun as well and seeing Hamilton!  We’ll have a full report and post lots while we are away!
